So, the first thing I would like to say is I'm finally getting a chance to really dig into the custom HTML templates and it's so amazing. I seriously love it so much. Everything works beautifully, there are so many variables for customization, and it doesn't flicker on page load/cause any lag.

I love it. That isn't an understatement.

That being said... the one problem I have ran into is the inability to use a reformatted quote/code script. All of the scripts I've used in the past call upon specific table/tr/etc combinations to run a replacement. In custom HTML, those selectors just aren't working anymore? Maybe I'm understanding it incorrectly, and if so, I'd appreciate an explanation in laymen's terms if I'm missing something simple. But for the moment, I can't get any of them to work, and it's making me sad.

I think it would be amazing if we could customize the HTML of the code/quote boxes, with the addition of a few variables, such as the ability to call a code or quote ID number similiar to the < ! -- |post_id| -- > format. IE., code#1, quote#5, etc., for ease of use with javascript events.

I've been struggling for a few days now trying to make custom code boxes with click-to-copy functionality. The whole time I've been fighting with it, I couldn't help but think, "I wish this was as easy as making an HTML template!" So, if that could potentially become a feature, I think it would be well received - not just by me, but a lot of people!

Link: Test forum

I saw on another support post from 2016 where John & a user named Dusty showed another user how to use clipboard.js on their skin.

I've been trying all day to get it to work on my private forum and it's not happening. I was hoping someone could help me understand so I can get it to work.

I've tried
  • installing the clipboard.min.js file from both the src and dist folders
  • linking it from 3rd party CDN provider
  • taking examples directly from the documentation
  • putting the script in the head tag
  • putting the script below the body tag
  • spamming button repeatedly going "y u no work tho"
I'm seeing this error on the console view but I don't know what it means.

Any help would be appreciated. Losing hair over this. :/

I saw that a similar question had been answered, but mine is a little different so I'm opening a new topic. Hope that's alright!

How does one go about making a drop-down for alerts in a custom userlink panel? Is that even possible?

If not, I can just have it link to the alerts page, but I think it would be really fun to make a customized dropdown to go with the custom user cp!

Hiiiiii again!

I'm using Kismet's tabs and I would like to change the transition style from a fade in/out to a horizontal slide in/out.

I posted a request for help on her topic back in July to speed up the transitions, but she never answered, so I figured I would post the question here since there are a lot of javascript/jquery savvy folks.

*  jQuery TabSwitcher v2.0                                     *

(function(e){KISCODE={};KISCODE.TabSwitcher=function(t){this.currentIdx=t.defaultTab?t.defaultTab:0;this.circular=t.circular;this.$container=e(t.container);this.$prev=e(t.prevButton);this.$next=e(t.nextButton);this.$buttons=this.$container.find(".clickable");this.$tabs=this.$container.find(".tab-content");this.animate=t.animate;this.eventType=e.inArray(t.eventType,["mouseover","click"])>-1?t.eventType:"click";this.stateful=t.allowCookies;;"-kistabs";if(this.stateful&&{this.currentIdx=parseInt(e.cookie(this.kiscookie))}this.$tabs.eq(this.currentIdx).addClass("selected");this.switchTab(this.currentIdx);var n=this;this.$buttons.each(function(){e(this).on(n.eventType,function(t){var r=e.inArray(this,n.$buttons);if(r!==n.currentIdx){n.switchTab(r);t.preventDefault()}})});this.$prev.on(n.eventType,function(e){if(n.currentIdx>0){n.switchTab(n.currentIdx-1)}else if(n.circular){n.switchTab(n.$tabs.length-1)}e.preventDefault()});this.$next.on(n.eventType,function(e){if(n.currentIdx<n.$tabs.length-1){n.switchTab(n.currentIdx+1)}else if(n.circular){n.switchTab(0)}e.preventDefault()})};KISCODE.TabSwitcher.prototype.switchTab=function(t){this.$buttons.eq(this.currentIdx).removeClass("highlight");this.$buttons.eq(t).addClass("highlight");if(this.animate){var n=this;this.$tabs.eq(n.currentIdx).siblings(".tab-content").hide();this.$tabs.eq(n.currentIdx).fadeOut("slow",function(){n.$tabs.eq(t).fadeIn("slow").addClass("selected")}).removeClass("selected")}else{this.$tabs.removeClass("selected").hide();this.$tabs.eq(t).show().addClass("selected")}if(this.stateful&&e.cookie){e.cookie(this.kiscookie,t)}this.currentIdx=t;return false}})(jQuery)

There's the jquery code written by Kismet.

I tried changing the fadeIn and fadeOut to slideToggle but no dice. Then again, that's probably the wrong way to go about it (I was just stabbing blindly at the problem).

How does one change the animation for this code?

Edit: Okay it kind of works but I would like it to slide in horizontally, not vertically.

Also, it's doing some wonky stuff: see screencap

pm notification [SOLVED]
Heyyy so I noticed today that the pm notification for my custom user control panel isn't working anymore.

Link to site

Here is the script I have in my board wrappers under the copyright (it's actually in a webpage that's called below copyright, if that matters):
   s = document.getElementById('userlinks').rows[0].cells[1].getElementsByTagName('a')[1];
   var new_messages = s.innerHTML.match(/^\d+/);
   if (s.innerHTML.match(/^\d+/) != "0") document.getElementsByClassName('new_messages').innerHTML = 'Inbox ('+new_messages+')';

and here is the code that plugs it in via html in the control panel (again, called via a webpage <% include):
  <li class='has-sub'><a href='/index.php?act=Msg&CODE=01' class='new_messages'>Inbox</a>

I know it used to work. I even had it working in this fashion on another bar I made. I'm just not sure why it's stopped working. Any help would be appreciated!
