 Filemanager + Multi Attachments
#
Today we are pleased to announce a new feature for JFB; multiple file attachments in posts AND a new filemanager! This update require some action from you as a board administrator.

Please complete the following steps:

1. Log in to the Admin CP
2. Click the 'JFB' category
3. Click on 'Filemanager'; wait a moment or two while it loads (time will vary).
4. You should get a message that the update was completed, click "filemanager" again.
5. Complete.

You are not required to complete this update immediately, but until you do, you and your members will be unable to upload any attachments via the board.

After you do the above, please check your group settings.

Each group now has an option to place a filesize max that you wish that group to have. Remove or adjust it as you need to.

And now on with the update!

======================
# Multiple File Attachments
======================

The name is pretty self-explanatory but nonetheless; multiple file attachments are supported per-post now.

No longer do you need to keep making new replies just to add more files.
  • Up to 50 files per post are allowed
  • A new max of 3MB per file can be uploaded per-post.
  • Attachment positioning with new attachment bbcode, [attachmentid=x], along with an "Add to post" button
  • Updated file icons for all allowed file types
  • New arrangement style with a fieldset around all attachments
  • Number of files attached displayed
  • Real thumbnail creation for image attachments
======================
# Filemanager Update
======================

The filemanager has been completely rewritten from scratch. It is no longer just a gigantic list that shows all the uploaded post files on one page. This section has been revamped to serve as one your one-stop location for all things uploads for your board.
  • File listings include type, date, size uploaded
  • Checkboxes on files and folders for mass management
  • Overall file statistics and information
  • Direct links to cut and paste to uploaded files.
  • The ability to make folders and sub-folders for files.
  • Search for files.
  • Clean-up tools to help save space.
  • Multiple file uploads via the filemanager itself
Because of the filemanager, some changes have occurred to other features, please note them:

The "IBstore filemanager" has been put into read and delete only mode. No new uploads. Eventually, this section will be deleted, whatever hosted files are there though will remain. Images should be uploaded through the new filemanager. We recommend you save and reupload anything important that is in here, and then delete anything out of the ibstore manager that you don't need.

The "avatar gallery" section is going to be removed as well, and this operation will be done via the filemanager. But for now you can keep using it.

=======================

Enjoy this update, and please let us know about any bugs/problems!

And oh, by the way, all board disk space has been increased to 500MB!

Very cool. Nice work as always Jcink smile.gif Thanks for all your hard work

Also, I would appreciate any reports from anyone that says their "upgrade" to the new system went well.

So far I have upgraded around 5 of my own test boards and this board without a hitch.

Just updated on several forums and it went without a hitch. (We haven't tried the system too much yet, but we'll let you know if we have any problems.) Thanks for all the hard work Jcink. Also, thank you for increasing the size of our attachment space to 500 Megabytes. That will be very useful.

Thanks again.

Are we going to need to do the same to this as the IBStore? As in....will we need to download all of our avatars and then re-up them into the Filemanager or will that be something that you move system wide? I only ask cause I have something like 600+ avatars. It will take me a little while to move them all and re-upload them all. I don't have a problem doing it....just wondering. Don't wanna sit and do it and then find out its something that you are gonna do yourself and I wasted my time.

What I'm hoping to do is make an option to have the system move them all. So don't go moving them all yet. You can just keep using it. We're not going to nuke everyone's uploaded avatars; don't worry.

Also, no one *has* to delete or move things out of the ibstore folder; but it's just a good idea. The files will continue to remain regardless, even if you do nothing.

Alright cool. I will just hold off then for the avatar gallery.

I upgraded a few mins ago and everything went nice and smooth. No problems so far. Excellent work once again. Keep up the good work! Can't wait for the next new feature to come out.

Thanks Jcink. I updated a minute ago and it was automatic, I don't think it took a full second. lol
