HTML Templates + Code & Quote
#
So, the first thing I would like to say is I'm finally getting a chance to really dig into the custom HTML templates and it's so amazing. I seriously love it so much. Everything works beautifully, there are so many variables for customization, and it doesn't flicker on page load/cause any lag.

I love it. That isn't an understatement.

That being said... the one problem I have ran into is the inability to use a reformatted quote/code script. All of the scripts I've used in the past call upon specific table/tr/etc combinations to run a replacement. In custom HTML, those selectors just aren't working anymore? Maybe I'm understanding it incorrectly, and if so, I'd appreciate an explanation in laymen's terms if I'm missing something simple. But for the moment, I can't get any of them to work, and it's making me sad.

I think it would be amazing if we could customize the HTML of the code/quote boxes, with the addition of a few variables, such as the ability to call a code or quote ID number similiar to the < ! -- |post_id| -- > format. IE., code#1, quote#5, etc., for ease of use with javascript events.

I've been struggling for a few days now trying to make custom code boxes with click-to-copy functionality. The whole time I've been fighting with it, I couldn't help but think, "I wish this was as easy as making an HTML template!" So, if that could potentially become a feature, I think it would be well received - not just by me, but a lot of people!

I am planning to create customized code and quote box html templates, it just very difficult to do within the current bbcode system which is why it hasn't been added. some things beyond the template system will require a rethink/rebuild for me to get that done.

Most reformatted code/quote scripts are indeed looking for default post template elements and will need to be heavily adjusted to your own custom template in order to work.
