I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not to post this in, but I recently noticed that resource empire's image hosting is down. Anybody here still managing the image hosting for RE?

Apologies about that, here's what happened.

RE's site and forum has remained online as mostly an archive. Nobody maintains it or updates it anymore.

I received an email from our provider that someone was using the RE user page feature to spread viruses. Although I checked them, and couldn't find any viruses, I didn't feel like taking any chances so I took the user pages system offline. I decided to do the same with the image hosting in case they were using that as well - neither of those services have been watched at all for months and I didn't think anyone was using it anymore.

I put RE image hosting back online just now; but uploads will not be processed. Any images you have you may want to re-host in case it breaks in the future since it's not something I'll be watching.

not at all. That is hosted on RE file hosting, which was a privatized file host for codes for a while. I left that alone since it was not a public service.

http://re.jcink.com/filehosting/trinigangsta/fr.js

this only concerns user pages + image hosting.

that's a shame, RE hosting was a ideal place for hosting arcade games and images for the jcink and PHP arcade.

Thanks for getting it back online jcink. cool.gif

Also use it to host my arcade games. It has always worked the best to host the games.

Yea, you did. About a handful of people really supported RE and what it was trying to do, that was the problem. And part of why it didn't work out, but we all know the story.

I know RE didn't work out, but I see no reason for the image hosting part of it to go down.

Since it went down, it's just too much to keep up with man. It's not really worth worrying about it with image hosts such as TinyPic and PhotoBucket available as well.

I don't know about tinypic, but I know PB don't allow tar file upload for free users anymore.
